Infinitely long sandy beaches framed by palm trees, as from the screen. Don’t expect it in Bali! Not in most places.
In the south of the island are beautiful beaches with white sand, large waves and strong currents. They are even surrounded by high cliffs around Uluwat to create beautiful panoramas. In the north, with a few exceptions, black sand or pebbles and the sea are calmer. Fine sand and beautiful beaches are on the small islands of Gili. Worth seeing are the beaches of Nusa Penida and Lembongan, just a short boat ride from Bali.
Snorkeling and diving are best around Menjangan Island in Northwest Bali National Park, where beautiful coral reefs are full of underwater life or on Nusa Penida Island, for example in Crystal Bay. You can also see mantas on Penida. Then in the east around Tulamben, Amed, and Padangbai. Beautiful underwater world with turtles can be seen around the islands of Gili near Lombok.
Surfing is best for beginners in Kuta or Canggu.
